A night of live music and dance celebrating The Golden Age of Hollywood in style with glamour, sophistication and panache!
Inspired by the golden age of Hollywood with its unique style and flair, think of the Oscars and of the suave, sophisticated Cary Grant, Humphrey Bogart or David Niven, The Rat Pack and all of the beautiful leading ladies like Lauren Bacall, Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn.
The evening features the return to Whitby Steampunk Weekend of the legendary Kal’s Kats Swing Band from Peaky Blinders fame playing live and providing a soundtrack you just have to get up and dance to.
If you haven’t seen or heard a live swing band in full flow before, wow what an astonishing surprise awaits you!
Ace Spectrum Videotheque Sound and Vision DJ will compliment the Big Band and Rat Pack sounds providing a mix of romance and music to keep you up and dancing til late.
How do we combine and blend Steampunk and a celebration of the glamorous world of the golden age of Hollywood style? Well, we believe it includes the magical ingredients of a medley of a beautiful ballroom perfect for the music, fantastic live entertainment and your imagination!
Dress code is entirely at your discretion, as stated above a combination and nod to this wonderful era is appreciated.
Doors open at 7pm for promenading, posing and pictures etc
Entertainment starts in earnest from 8pm and party till 12
Please note your tickets do not guarantee the same seat all night, this is primarily an evening designed to dance the night away. It is a Dance, and the idea is you should be circulating, gossiping on court intrigue and dancing of course!
It would be splendid to maximise the use of thedance floor and keep you on your toes. Seats are provided for resting only but you may not save a seat. A three second rule applies (time travel back and forwards is excluded).
