About Walk with Rotary for Cancer Research Wales
Walk The Canal is a sponsored walk, along the stretch of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal running from Llangattock in the north to Five Locks Cwmbran in the south. The event is organised by the Rotary Clubs of Abergavenny, Crickhowell, Cwmbran Vale, Henllys and Pontypool and will be raising funds for Cancer Research Wales and local worthy causes.
There are five start points for the walk along the canal. All the walks finish at Goytre Wharf and culminate in an end of walk event with BBQ and refreshments.
Choose a suitable walk for your ability. Invite your friends and family members to sponsor or join you and have a great day out walking along the beautiful Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal.
The 2024 Walk The Canal event is the second year it has been organised and will be raising money for Cancer Research Wales, and other charities. 75% of the total raised will go to Cancer Research Wales and 25% to other charitable causes supported by the Rotary clubs of Abergavenny, Crickhowell, Cwmbran Vale, Henllys and Pontypool, split equally between the five clubs.
