About Moss Safari: A Family Microscope Workshop
In ordinary moss, lives a hidden world.
Join this amazing experience of being guided on a microscopic adventure, discovering incredible living creatures on Moss Safari. Then prepare and observe your own moss sample using a quality microscope and all the guidance you need to do your own Moss Safari.
This is a bespoke event. There are just 12 places for pairs of one adult and one child (8-14 years old). You will be guided by moss life expert, Dr. Moss and his Moss Safari assistant.
No experience necessary. Just an interest in nature and microscopes and a curious mind.
This is ideal for budding young scientists who want to get some hands-on experience and extend their knowledge beyond the school curriculum. And for adults, you’ll never look at moss in the same way again!
Moss Safari has featured on the BBC Live Science Lesson, New Scientist Live as well as outreach events at primary and secondary schools and science education conferences. The Moss Safari book is published by Pelagic in May 2025. Moss Safari collaborates with VITTA Education.
