About Angeliki Giannopoulou, piano
We continue our exploration of Ravel with two glittering gems, while also beginning our celebration, over the coming months, of the 75th birthday of Scotland’s greatest living composer, James Dillon. Two of his most beautiful, delicate and charming piano works are offset by comparable tone paintings by Mompou and by Skalkottas’ dazzling pianistic fireworks.
The fascinating programme is completed by an early work by Bacewicz’s and intense, emotionally charged masterpieces by Chopin and Haydn.
