Boat Hire Options
Enjoy a little cruise on the River Great Ouse! Either sit back on The Artful Dodger and relax and watch the river go by or if you would prefer something a little more adventurous go ahead and book a place on Freya, Odin, or Thor our self-drive ‘one-hour’ hire boats.
The Artful Dodger
The Artful Dodger can seat up to 12 passengers and has a fully licensed bar on board also serving hot drinks, cakes, and snacks.

The Artful Dodger Wednesday Trips to and from Bedford.
Board the boat at Danish Camp at 10AM and journey up the river to Bedford. The boat will pass through three locks; Castle Mills, Cardington, and Bedford, then onto the Bedford River where the boat will moor at The Town Bridge. The journey time is approximately two hours. Passengers disembark to enjoy free time in Bedford. For the return journey, passengers need to be at the boat for 3PM. Single and return journeys are available.

Depart at 1PM and 2PM.
The Artful Dodger Sunday One-Hour River Trip
Board the boat at Danish Camp at 4PM and journey along the river Castle Mills Lock, then turn around and follow the river back to Willington Lock, we turn again to take us back to Danish Camp

Freya, Odin & Thor – ‘One Hour’ Hire Boats
Maximum four adults or two adults plus up to 3 children, over 2 years old. Person hiring must be over 21.
Departing Danish Camp at 9:30AM, 11AM, 1:30PM & 3PM every Wednesday to Sunday (weather and river conditions dependant).
