About Joint Concert with SCYO, Prima, Opus, SWW, and SWSYO
A joint concert featuring 5 of Surrey Arts Youth orchestras:
Surrey County Youth Orchestra (SCYO), is a full symphony orchestra comprising around 55 instrumentalists from all parts of Surrey. It performs a varied repertoire from the eighteenth to twenty first century.
Prima - A beginner ensemble for violin, viola, cello and double bass players. From complete beginner up to grade 2 standard playing short fun pieces, guided by expert tutors.
Opus – An intermediate ensemble for violin, viola, cello and double bass. This ensemble plays a range of fun classical to contemporary arrangements.
South West Winds – A beginner to intermediate wind band, welcoming wind, brass, percussion and piano players. Players can join once they have learned their initial notes and stay with us up to grade 4 standard.
South West Surrey Youth Orchestra – An intermediate ensemble for string, woodwind, brass, percussion and piano players, from grade 4 upwards. This orchestra plays a very wide range of repertoire including classical favourites, music from films and musicals, jazz standards and contemporary arrangements.
