Stewarton Drama Group present as their first production of 2026:

‘An Incident at The Border’ by Kieran Lynn.

Three performances of the show will be held in the informal, intimate theatre within the group’s own premises which seats 40 people per performance.

“When we came for a romantic walk in the park, we didn’t think we would be involved in an international crisis. This side of the line, that side of the line …. does it really make that much difference which side I am from ?”

When a country’s new border is drawn, a couple are divided by the line. Under the rigorous eyes of a brand new border guard, they are trapped in an increasingly absurd nightmare, stuck in between two aggressive nations on the verge of war. ‘An Incident at The Border’ is a comic play exploring the imaginary lines that divide us and the severe penalties for breaking them…..

Stewarton Drama Group are delighted to present this unique and intriguing play by acclaimed playwright, Kieran Lynn in February 2026. A version of the play was first seen at The Oran Mor in Glasgow as part of the now famous ‘A Play, A Pie and A Pint’ series of lunchtime theatre and was later recorded and broadcast on BBC Radio 4.

Wine will be available for the audience at all three performances.

Tickets are priced at a flat rate of £6.00 each.
