About Vincent in Brixton

It is 1873 and the young Vincent van Gogh rents a room in a suburb of London while he is being trained for a career as an art dealer. Slowly, he becomes aware of the secrets which lie beneath the surface of everyday life in this house. Wright's play - premiered at the National Theatre - traces the transforming effects of love, sex and youthful adventure on Van Gogh's Still unfound talent as a painter.

Coming soon from Open Space...

Woman in Mind, by Alan Ayckbourn

Starved of affection by a boringly priggish husband and a son who seems ashamed of her, Susan conjures up an idyllic family which meets her need for love and understanding. But gradually she begins to lose control of visitations by her fantasy husband, brother and daughter as they begin to interact with her real family. This is one of Ayckbourn's darkest but most hilarious comedies, a play which set the audience rocking with laughter when it opened at the Vaudeville Theatre in London 40 years ago.

Touring May 2026.
