Ever fancied meeting the person who lives at Chillington Hall?
On this very special Christmas by Candlelight tour you get the unique chance to ask those burning questions about owning, running and living in this very special place. On arrival you will be welcomed and guided around the ground floor of the Hall by Charlie Giffard, who is the 30th member of his family to own the Estate and live at the family home.
Charlie will give you a friendly and informative tour around his childhood home and cover subjects such as architecture, art, social and domestic stories and what it's like to live a 21st century way of life in a house that was designed and built for a very different time.
This Christmas tour with Charlie will have the Hall dressed in its festive finery ready for his families Christmas Day, it will be conducted by candlelight so all the open fires will be roaring away to give a fantastic atmosphere along with the twinkling Christmas lights.
We finish the tour with mince pies and mulled wine around the towering 15ft Christmas tree and a roaring open fire whilst some traditional Christmas carols are played on our grand piano.
Tickets are limited so please book in advance, small group bookings are accepted subject to availability.
Two tour times available:
4pm- tour starts promptly at 4.15pm and the event is expected to finish at 6.30pm.
7pm- tour starts promptly at 7.15pm and the event is expected to finish at 9.30pm.
