About Willow Weaving Summer Series - Dragonflies
The third and final workshop in our summer series. Make a beautiful dragonfly with a spiral corn-dolly style weave. This is fun and satisfying to do; something different if you’ve been to the other summer series workshops, but suitable for beginners too.
All materials and tools provided; please note that we will be using sharp tools, and some manual strength and dexterity is needed (although I have pliers to help you if sustained grip is a problem). There’s always fresh herbal tea on offer too.
The tutor: I love working with willow; it’s the way it feels in my hands, the creation of something gorgeous and unique from a pile of twigs, even the smell – sweet, woody, fresh – is a treat.
“Lucy is very knowledgeable about the different types of willow and is passionate about her craft, and her warmth and humour made it all the more fun.”
“Lucy holds the space beautifully and teaches you how to work with the willow with experience and patience. She has a perfect balance of supporting and guiding you, whilst also encouraging you to have confidence in your own creative journey.”
The venue: The Big Wood Estate offers a beautiful natural space to spend the morning, with open grassland to base ourselves if the weather is fine, and a tepee and a classroom to choose from if it’s not. There is plenty of parking available, and compost loos on site.
