It’s midsummer weekend! Celebrate by learning to weave a beautiful sunflower from willow.
This simple, joyful project introduces you to basic basketry techniques - perfect for beginners.
The tutor: I love working with willow; it’s the way it feels in my hands, the creation of something gorgeous and unique from a pile of twigs, even the smell – sweet, woody, fresh – is a treat.

The venue: The Big Wood Estate offers a beautiful natural space to spend the morning, with open grassland to base ourselves if the weather is fine, and a tepee and a classroom to choose from if it’s not. There is plenty of parking available, and compost loos on site.
