Why should Agricultural and Country Shows look to sell tickets online?
Reduce Risk
By selling tickets online, in advance of the event, the risk of external factors effecting the event's income is reduced.
Factors such as weather, transport issues and competing events can cause unexpected reductions in the number of attendees an event has, and therefore the revenue the event generates.
By selling in advance, patrons have committed their time and money to the event, regardless of what changes between the point of purchase and the event occurring.
Encourage Higher Spend at the Event
It's important that your traders and exhibitors come back year after year. When people buy tickets in advance, they tend to then spend more money on show day than they would do if they buy tickets on the day. Your traders will always want to come back if they get a good return from your rally.
Reduce Number of Volunteers Needed
By selling tickets in advance, (and/or using our services on the day) you could reduce the number of volunteers that you need. Helping keep your event running smoothly, with potentially, fewer volunteers needed.
Consumer Expectation
Buying online, is no longer unusual to most people, whatever their age.
By offering advance online tickets, patrons are given more flexibility over when and how they pay for their tickets, leading to a better experience before they even set foot in the showground.
Why is Ticketebo the ideal partner for Agricultural and Country shows?
Ticketebo is a Managed Ticketing Service
We build your ticketing page and tickets for you; following a brief from an Event Organiser, we then construct an initial draft of the page, taking into account your branding and information - ensuring a smooth customer experience when purchasing tickets on your Ticketebo event page.
Our event pages are built using responsive design techniques - ensuring that your event page looks great whatever screen type and size your customers are using (Smartphone/Tablet/Laptop/Desktop etc).
We will also supply you with QR codes to use on any printed advertising that you may produce to help direct more traffic to your ticketing pages.
We’re then on hand throughout the lifespan of your event, dealing with amendments and alterations for you. We also extend our industry leading service to your patrons, handling lost tickets, refund requests and order detail alterations. This is all with the aim of saving you as much time and stress as possible, whilst delivering an excellent experience to your patrons before they have event attended your event.
Our Pricing
We charge a booking fee per transaction of 4.95%, or a minimum of 75p. This is inclusive of VAT and Payment Processing.
It can either be paid by the Consumer (added on top of the ticket price), or it can be paid by the Organiser (included in the ticket price). If passed onto the Consumer, our service and software would come at no cost to an Event Organiser.
There are no monthly subscription charges or set up fees.
The above fee is based on payment of ticket sales being made to the Organiser after the event, however we can link to Stripe if payment is needed in advance of the event. Please ask us more about this if of interest.
Please note our charges are per transaction, not per ticket.
For more information on pricing, please visit our Pricing page.
Reporting Tools
Ticketebo offers powerful reporting tools that allow Show Organisers to monitor ticket sales and demographic data. This data-driven approach helps with decision-making, such as adjusting marketing strategies, managing supplies, and ensuring that the event is well-staffed and properly equipped.
Organisers have access to their own reporting dashboard, which we refer to as ‘Insights’. It reports on things like Ticket Sales, Tickets Sold, Peak Times & Days, Postcode Heatmap and several other pieces of key information.
’Insights’ is browser based, meaning you can access it on a laptop/desktop, or on a mobile device whilst on the go.
We are a Supplier Member of the ASAO
The Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations represents over 240 agricultural, horticultural, equine and countryside events. We’re keen to support this industry where we can, and we are proud to be a Supplier Member.

Customisable Ticketing Options
Agricultural Shows can often have multiple entry points, and a range of ticket types. Ticketebo allows organisers to have a wide array of customisable ticket options, allowing tiered pricing (early bird, advance, on the day etc.), multi-person tickets such as Family tickets, and multi-day tickets, such as a weekend ticket. This flexibility helps organisers cater to the diverse needs of attendees, maximise ticket sales and help make the gate more efficient on the day of the event.
Details that are shown on the ticket can vary from one ticket type to another. For example, a ticket for a Carer could have different parking information than a normal ticket, or direct them to a more accessible entry gate.
Tickets can also be colour coded, making it easier for gate staff to recognise key information, such as the type of ticket, at a glance.
Manage Entry for Exhibitors and Traders
Issuing scannable tickets to exhibitors and traders can help dramatically reduce the number of people entering the show site without paying. We can issue unique tickets to your traders, direct to their email inbox. This can save hundreds of pounds in postage and hours of envelope stuffing too!
Give Your Sponsors More
There are multiple places within the ticket page and tickets that we can add in further information and imagery. This can be used for a variety of uses, but one that is popular is sponsor advertisement.
We can add multiple sponsors logos and messages to the event page and even add their logos onto every ticket that is sent out too. This can also vary by ticket type, allowing you to sell sponsorship space very specifically if desired.
Barcoded Ticketing & Free Entry Scanning Technology
Our Free Door Scan Manager & Ticketing App (for iPhone/iPad and Android devices) integrates seamlessly with the barcode embedded on all our tickets. Our entry scanning ticketing app enables rapid door entry to your live event from multiple synchronised devices; as well as detecting and alerting your entry personnel should a customer present a ticket which has already been fulfilled. Best of all this software is provided free of charge to our Organisers.
Scan-triggered Automated SMS Messaging
OPTIONAL If required, we can setup the system to issue out an automatic SMS message to all attendees when they are scanned in. It can include links to things such as programs and schedules or contain key Health and Safety messages and guidance such as entry/exit plans, what to do in an emergency etc. This could help fulfil your duty to prepare the public (a key principle of Martyn’s Law) (please note small charge applies per SMS).
Why take card payments on the day?
Is cash still King? Many people still believe it is. And for some that is still the case. However, as an event organiser it is important to note that as of 2024, 15% of people carry no cash at all. (So that's potentially 15%, or 1 in 6, of potential customers that cannot attend your event if you only accept cash.) By 2020 only 17% of total transactions in the UK were made with Cash. And since 2015 a frightening 60% of physical banks have closed, which makes it harder for people to even get their hands on cash!
And of course, after your event, you have to find a bank that wants to handle the cash that you took on the gate!
If you want to welcome as many attendees as possible to your show, accepting card payments could be a simple, and cost effective way of doing so.
Ticketebo offers an on the day card processing solution, which includes all the equipment needed. (Our equipment can also record cash taken at each gate too, to help with your auditing.) We can also supply staff to train up your volunteers, and be on site throughout your event to help ensure everything runs smoothly. There are of course multiple options around card processing, simply ask our team and we can talk you through different options.
