Abingdon Traditional Craft Fair is a modern-day tradition. This year we are in our spacious new venue of St Helen and St Katharine (the school on Faringdon Road, Abingdon) while the ancient Abbey Buildings are being refurbished. It remains otherwise the same, much-loved three day show which traces its roots back to the 1970s, and it will continue to contribute to the upkeep of the medieval Abbey Buildings, maintaining the 50 year tradition even while we are based away from the show’s original home.
We have room to increase the number of stalls and will have some new craftworkers displaying and demonstrating. As always the exhibitors have been checked and chosen carefully to maintain our reputation for quality and genuine craftsmanship, and to provide the best range of stalls for visitors to enjoy.
Ticket Information
As usual, we will be managing numbers to achieve a regular flow of visitors rather than a dense crowd in the middle of the day. When we managed numbers using entry time slots in 2021 (because of Covid) a lot of people told us that they preferred the slightly less crowded rooms. We also have to keep an eye on numbers to meet the fire-safety restrictions of the venue.
We strongly advise that you purchase your ticket online in advance to guarantee your ability to enter at the time you arrive. Tickets will still be available at the door but, if an hour is already fully booked online, we may have to ask people who turn up without pre-ordering to wait until the next hour.
You can take as long as you like in the craft fair - the time only refers to your arrival, not the amount of time you can stay.
